“O Lord, the king rejoices in your strength.  How great is his joy in the victories you give!,” Psalm 21:1

Like David, praise God now.  We need to praise Him for His strength.  Praise Him for the victories He has, is, and will give us.  God hears us.  God hears our hearts.  He knows the distress we are under.  He sees the enemy trying to take you out.  He sees us faltering.  God is stronger than all of that.  He has answered our prayers so now it’s time for praise.  Praise God, child of God, praise God.

“Yet, I am poor and need; may the Lord think of me.  You are my help and deliverer, O my God, do not delay,” Psalm 40:17

Sometimes, we are poor and need – physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially and earthly.  We are poor and needy.  We can’t seem to get ourselves out of the place we are in.  Lord, you are our help and our deliverer.  Do not delay.  Please Lord, do not delay.  Lord, you are the only one who can give us help and deliver us.  We will be glad and tell others so that they will know you are God.  Thank you, Jesus.  And, please do not delay.

“Remember me, O Lord when you show favor to your people, come to my aid when you save them,” Psalm 106:4

Couldn’t we all us a little favor?  Don’t you want a little movement?  Are you tired of being stuck?  We all think this when we are feeling like we are in a wrench being twisted, like a turnip that can’t give blood.  It feels like we keep getting further into the abyss.  But, God is able to do more, exceedingly more than we can ask or think.  And this verse reminds us of that.  We can ask for favor and that God will save us.  Please give us favor O Lord and save us today.

“Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions,” Psalm 51:1

Don’t you want God’s mercy and grace?  Don’t you wonder why you are in the situation you are in and would love to have God’s mercy and grace to move forward in harvest season, peaceful season?  Wouldn’t you love to have God’s compassion?

This prayer shows that David is so real with God.  He lets his hair down and speaks to God from the depths of his heart and repents and turns from his evil ways.  And, David goes on and praises God and lets others know who God is.

Let’s praise God.  Let’s have peace.  Let’s receive God’s mercy.  Let’s receive God’s grace.  Let’s receive God’s compassion.  God’s love is for us all in the way that is just for us.   Receive yours today.

“O Lord, do not forsake me, be not far from me, O my God,” Psalm 38:21

Sometimes don’t you want to remind God like David did to not forsake you?  When trials and tribulations and situations you can’t change or do not understand are around you – and nothing is happening but you are stuck with them and all your praying is going nowhere it seems.  Don’t you just want to remind yourself while you are reminding God to not forsake you?

Don’t you just want to say: Don’t leave me hanging Lord; Stay with me; Don’t be far from me, Lord; And, be quick with your help so that I do not stray or forget who you are and who I am; So that my and your enemies, oh Lord, don’t assume victory which we know is false.  Don’t you want to say that to God because having it rubbed in your face makes the days harder to bear?

Help us, oh Lord, to remain upright.  Help us to stay in you.  Keep us Lord.  Do not forsake us and be close to us.  Thank you Lord

“Wealth and riches are in his house and his righteousness endures forever,” Psalm 112:3

It is hard to understand riches and wealth, even after trying again and again.  Sometimes it means dollars and cents.  Sometimes it means health and family.  Sometimes it means material things.  Sometimes it means the time spent with friend and loved ones.  It’s esoteric and practical all at the same time.

It’s hard to understand riches and wealth because many have not experienced it.  We have but it doesn’t seem that we have at times.  And, we may never know.  But, God’s word says that blessed is the man who fears the Lord who finds great delight in His command.  Wealth and riches are in his house and his righteousness endures forever.  God will ensure that we will never be needy of the wicked that we lean on Him and that we have what we want and need.

“O Lord, when you favored me, you made my mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face I was dismayed,” Psalm 30:7

At times, we all feel like David feels right in this verse.  When the Lord favors us, we are able to stand firm.  We are firm in our spouses love for us.  We are firm in our children.  We are firm in our ministry.  We are firm in our career.

But, when the Lord hides His face, we are dismayed.  We are dismayed in our finances.  We are dismayed in our children.  We are dismayed in our spouses.  We are dismayed in our career.  We are dismayed in our ministry.

Lord, we need our mercy.  The next verse states that David cried for mercy and things changed.  We need your mercy, Lord.  We need change.  We want to be firm again, and not dismayed

“Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations.  I will be exalted in the earth,” Psalm 46:10

Be still.  All the worrying rushing around, pulling out of our comfort zone – all the pushing, haggling non-working- know that God is God. He controls it all.  You may be uncomfortable right now but God’s got you.  You may feel like He doesn’t hear you but He does.  Be still – stop running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Be still and watch the wonders of God.

“Our help is in the name of the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth,” Psalm 124:4

God’s name is so powerful that our help is in that.  We don’t need His Presence.  We don’t need a manifestation.  We don’t need a praise party.  We don’t need a long drawn out prayer.  We can pray just one word – Jesus.  Or, Lord.  Or, God.  Or, Holy Spirit.  We don’t need a long drawn out prayer for help.  Our help is in His name – Lord.

“May he give you the desire of your heart and make all of your plans succeed,” Psalm 20:4

David prayed for you.  He prayed that God would give you the desire of your hear and make all your plans succeed.

Wow.  It’s funny how our plans today are not the plans we had for ourselves so many years ago, even sometimes just days or hours ago.  We are so unworthy, but God gave us our assignments.  He gave us our desires.   And, He will make sure our desires succeed.  Our definition of success is not necessary His definition of success, but it will be successful.

Don’t be scared about the desires that God has placed in you that you don’t understand.  Just follow God; He’s got it all figured out.
